As part of preparations for the upcoming season, Australian Norwood will play friendly matches with our national teams.
Norwood FC is the first professional club to hold its preparation in Europe. It will be our great honor to host the club for one week in beautiful Biograd na Moru.
The team will stay in Croatia from October 21st until October 30th, and will be hosted by our long time sponsor, Hotel Ilirija, who is also largely responsible for organizing this event.
The friendly matches will be held on October 27th at the city stadium in Drniš. Norwood women’s team and our Croatian Queens will play at 1:30 p.m. After that, at 3:00 p.m. male teams will play their game.
This year, Norwood marks the 140th anniversary of its existence, making it one of the oldest Australian clubs. The club has 30 titles and is the second most successful South Australian club. Norwood FC is competing in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), and this year the club participated in the Grand Finale alongside North Adelaide.
Norwood women’s team competes in the female version of the league (WSANFL) and is also its first champion. This year the team participated in the League final.
Some of Australia’s most famous professional players played at Norwood, and the most famous one is a captain of Adelaide Crows Taylor Tex Walker.
